R.K. Pillai has been in the forefront of information technology and business management for over 30 years in India and United States. Prior to his retirement, he was an Information Technology and Management Consultant to several US federal government agencies, including the US Army, Department of Education, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Department of Labor, US Patent and Trademark Office, World Bank/Inter American Development Bank, and Fortune 500 companies, such as Bell South Communications and BluCross.
Before that, he was the EDP Manager for about eight years at Cochin Shipyard Ltd., Kochi, the largest ship building company in India. He started his career in the Computer Center, at the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. Later he served as software systems and engineering research faculty of Computer Science Department at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
He has master’s degrees in mathematics & statistics, and computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, and a Diploma in Business Management.
His interests include advancement in information technology, artificial intelligence, and above all, in the empowerment of young people in fully realizing and developing their intellectual potential for greater opportunities in the global market place.
