Jessica Carso, independent consultant and Administrator for World without Hate, has dedicated her career to the non-profit social sector. With 15 years of leadership, administration and philanthropic experience in the arts, culture, humanities, social justice, higher education and social services, Jessica is focused on supporting these and other important causes through her non-profit, social entrepreneurial consulting work.
Jessica offers comprehensive, short and long-term, professional and volunteer consulting services for organizations of all sizes in the areas of organizational health and nonprofit management, board development and recruitment, fund development, marketing and communications, executive coaching, support staff and emerging leader mentoring, strategic planning, program, department and organization creation and development, as well as retreat facilitation, board and staff presentations and workshops.
As Managing Director for Wesleyan University’s Green Street Arts Center, Jessica designed and implemented the organization’s fundraising and marketing programs from the ground up. Under her leadership, Green Street’s programming, earned revenue, advisory board participation and community engagement grew steadily over her 5 ½ year tenure. In addition, used as a robust training ground for Wesleyan students, Jessica and her staff developed and implemented a highly impactful internship, fellowship and work-study program for students and emerging leaders interested in non-profit, youth development and arts education work.
Since 2006, Jessica has been an active member of the international Association of Fundraising Professionals, most recently completing her 2-year term as President of the Connecticut Chapter. In addition, Jessica’s expansive community leadership and volunteer work includes serving as Chair of her localCommunity Foundation’s Fund for Women and Girls, as well as Founding Co-Chair of the Foundation’s Live Local, Give Local 365 initiative, promoting impact through $1 a day donations.
In 2010, Jessica was named Huffington Post’s Greatest Person of the Day. She was also named to Hartford Business Journal’s 40 under 40, Connecticut Magazine’s 40 under 40, and was most recently recognized by the National Association of Professional Women as one of their Women of the Year Circle recipients. Jessica received her Bachelor’s Degree from Marymount Manhattan College and her Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Wesleyan University.
