Dr. Sanjay Rai
Dr. Sanjay Rai is a senior vice president for Academic Affairs at Montgomery College. He provided leadership and vision for the 500 full-time and 1,200 part-time faculty in the Academic Affairs division, resulting in a successful reorganization. He has provided leadership for the redesign of the general education and general studies programs, for curriculum alignment with K-12 and 4-year colleges and universities, ensuring that Montgomery College’s programs reflect the impact of technology, globalization, and workforce alignment – critical factors in student success, today. He has developed innovative partnerships with local businesses that have resulted in Montgomery College becoming a center for continuing education and training for already skilled workers, as well as an on ramp for people starting or changing careers. Through a State Department funded grant initiative, he has led the College to explore global opportunities.
Dr. Rai completed a PhD in mathematics from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, an MS in mathematics from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada, and an MS in mathematics and a BS in statistics, physics, and mathematics from the University of Allahabad in India. Dr. Rai’s most recent book, Pathways to Real Analysis, was published in April 2009.
